Group Benefits
and Retirement Solutions
A person’s response to medication plays a very important role. When a treatment does not produce the expected outcome or causes side effects, it can affect a person’s quality of life, wellbeing and ability to function on a daily basis. It can even contribute to absenteeism or disability.
That is why we have partnered with Biron to make pharmacogenomic tests more accessible to our group insurance plan members.
A more personalized approach to care
Pharmacogenomics analyzes how a person’s genetic profile influences their response to certain medications. The information it provides can guide treatment decisions and support total wellbeing.
Pharmacogenomic testing helps take the guesswork out of treatment for various conditions, including:
- Mental health problems
- Chronic pain
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Certain cardiovascular diseases
Preferred pricing and reimbursement
- Our group insurance plan members and their dependents have access to an $82 discount when purchasing an eligible Biron pharmacogenomic test.
- The cost of the test may be reimbursed if the plan covers pharmacogenomic tests or includes a health spending account (HSA). This coverage is also available to new groups on an opt-in basis.
