Financial literacy | Supporting financial wellbeing and retirement readiness

The path to thriving in retirement involves thoughtful planning of the financial, physical, mental and social dimensions. This November, as part of Financial Literacy Month, we will be running an awareness campaign on this topic. Throughout the month, our experts will shed light on the four pillars of retirement in a webinar series aimed at helping people prepare with confidence for this new chapter in life.

November is also an opportunity to highlight the impact of financial wellbeing on many other dimensions of total wellbeing, both at work and in people’s personal lives. Organizations have a role to play, and you can support them in that role.

Theme of the webinar series: Thriving in retirement

The webinars take a holistic approach to retirement planning based on four pillars:

  • Financial security
  • Physical health
  • Mental wellness
  • Social wellbeing

Together, these form the basis of a worry-free and fulfilling retirement.

Our goal is to give people a better understanding of the issues surrounding retirement and help them prepare by emphasizing total wellbeing in addition to financial aspects.

Every Wednesday in November, we will host a webinar that is open to everyone. Details will be shared soon with our Group Savings and Retirement clients, who can invite their employees to sign up, whether they are enrolled in the group plan or not.

Here are the titles and dates of the four webinars:

November 4

Securing your future: mastering financial strategies for a worry-free retirement

November 11

Active aging: wellbeing and physical health in retirement

November 18

Retirement: nurturing your mental and emotional health

November 25

Financial Literacy Month gives us an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to supporting people on their journey toward total wellbeing.

Financial wellbeing: More than just a retirement plan

Financial difficulties can emerge long before retirement. Debt, financial stress and barriers to saving can make it harder to prepare for retirement and can impact people’s sense of security and peace of mind.

Group retirement savings plans continue to play a vital role, particularly when paired with complementary initiatives such as financial education, personalized advice services and support.
